Butterfly Gardens - Now offered by CVS Cruise Victoria

Cruise Victoria now offers Butterfly Gardens as an option on selected Butchart Gardens Tours. Effective August 5th, 2010 - Cruise Victoria will offer an optional stop at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens on its 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:10pm and 2:20pm departures for the Butchart Gardens.

Operating similar to a shuttle bus service direct to Butchart Gardens, the service offers luxury motor coaches, driver narration and hotel pick-up at select Victoria hotels. The adult rate for the service is $59.50 and includes entrance to Butterfly Gardens, Butchart Gardens and round trip transportation.

If you are arriving into the Port of Victoria, BC you may already have booked your shore excursion to Butchart Gardens.... then again maybe you have not. It is one of our favorite tours - Butchart Gardens Evening Illuminations with Fireworks! Every Saturday evening in July and August - Fireworks at the Butchart Gardens.

Butchart Gardens Fireworks Tour

Butchart Gardens Fireworks! It must be summer time.

Cruise Victoria offers tours to the world famous Butchart Gardens to view the fireworks every Saturday night in July and August. Departing from downtown Victoria - 811 Government Street, we offer a 6:00pm departure and a 7:30pm departure with a return trip following the fireworks display.

Are you on a cruise ship, tours are designed to depart the Gardens at 10:45pm to return to your cruise ship by 11:20pm - prior to the ships All Aboard time. If you are not on a cruise ship we have a departure at 11:10pm so there is no rush to return to the motor coach.

With a kick off day of April 17th, Cruise Victoria began providing daily tour service to an from the Butchart Gardens from Downtown Victoria. Gary Gale, Manager of CVS says "we are seeing a large number of passengers on our service from Blackball Line's Coho Ferry and from Clipper Navigations "Victoria Clipper" vessels." The number of riders continue to rise as the CVS Tour is the least expensive option to travel to the Gardens and includes full narrations and all admissions. This April 17th, 2009, CVS Cruise Victoria will start operating to the world famous Butchart Gardens with multiple daily tours.

Offering the flexibility and price of a shuttle type service, the Cruise Victoria Tour will also offer tour narration and the benefits of a quality tour product. The spring schedule includes five departure times from downtown Victoria with convenient pick-up at select Hotel properties. Cruise Victoria reaches Environmental Milestone

CVS Cruise Victoria is a provider of motor coach and shuttle bus services in Victoria, BC Canada. We provide services for Cruise Lines and the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority in addition to serving tourists from around the world. Since the inception of the Company in early 2007, Cruise Victoria has been operating it's fleet of motor coaches on various blends of Bio-Diesel. In April of 2008 we moved to using 100% Soy based Bio-Fuels - with no fossil fuels being burned.

Today we are proud to announce that Cruise Victoria has reached reductions of 100 tonnes of green house gases. This is equivalent to reducing the number of vehicles on the road annually by 20 passenger cars, just by using Bio-Fuel instead of Fossil Fuel. We further reduce our carbon foot print by our strict policies limiting engine idling, in addition to monitoring our passenger loads to ensure that our coaches only operate when necessary. Our average load factor in 2008 was 41.2 passengers per trip (Cruise Shuttle Services).

We remain the only major motor coach operator in Western Canada operating using 100% Bio-Fuel and we look forward to continuing success with the program in the future.

Starting in late August, Cruise Victoria began a new tour to the world famous Butchart Gardens. The tour operates daily - seven days a week with a choice of five departure times. One of the best sightseeing values in Victoria, the service costs $47.00 per adult including all taxes, Gardens admission and round trip transportation. Show your CVS Brochure and receive a $2 discount on each adult fare.

Operating from some of Victoria's finer Hotel properties such as the Victoria Marriott and the Harbour Tours Hotel as well as 811 Government Street, tickets are also available at Tourism Victoria's Visitor Information Centre.

This tour will operate through the end of October 2008.

Cruise Victoria Fleet Size Increases

On June 12th, Cruise Victoria took delivery of our eleventh (11) coach, a bright shiny Prevost H3-45. This 60 passenger coach is state of the art climate controlled, restroom equipped, with spacious luggage bays and DVD Video Entertainment System. The coach is presently being painted in the CVS Cruise Victoria blue and silver livery and is anticipated to be in service by late June.

This new coach brings a new era to Cruise Victoria and will start regular sightseeing tour operations to and from the Butchart Gardens. The coach will also operate on our shuttle services operating between Ogden Point Cruise Terminal and Downtown Victoria shuttling Cruise Ship guests between the piers and the downtown commercial district.

As with the rest of Cruise Victoria's fleet of motor coaches, this new Prevost will operate on a bio-diesel mix which will reduce it's environmental impact.

Cruise Victoria goes 100% Bio Diesel...

In an article posted recently in the Victoria Times Colonist, it stated;

'Cruise Victoria, the company running shuttle buses from Ogden Point to downtown for cruise ship passengers, has switched to 100 per cent biodiesel from Columbia Fuels Inc. to cut emissions and save money.

"Each motor coach carries about 50 passengers, and depending on the number of ships arriving, between four and eight buses will be at Ogden Point", said Cruise Victoria manager Gary Gale.

"One of the major concerns was tailpipe emissions from the buses," Gale said. The biodiesel costs about 20 cents per litre less than regular diesel.

Its fleet of 11 coaches started using 20 per cent biodiesel last year and moved to 50 per cent by July. As of this season, the coaches are using 100 per cent biodiesel, he said.

The switch is expected to reduce carcinogenic tailpipe emissions by up to 90 per cent.

This fuel is made from North American soy oil, a byproduct of soybeans grown for animal feed, and does not compete with subsistence food crops.'
